JEURYS FAMILIA: THE NY MEGA-STAR NOBODY KNOWS

Last season Jeurys Familia had a 1.85 ERA and forty-three saves for the NY Mets on their march to the Fall Classic. His saves total was third in the major leagues and it tied the Mets’ franchise single-season record.

The Mets have been in business since 1962 so Familia, who won the closer’s job in 2015 and has been lights-out ever since, tied a 53-year-old mark.

His 74 saves dating back to the start of 2015 ranks second in the bigs to Pittsburgh’s Mark Melancon’s 78.
