JASON AND TRAVIS KELCE REDUX…FEBRUARY 12, 2023

Super Bowl LVII.

Philadelphia Eagles-Kansas City Chiefs.

Glendale, Arizona.

Here we go.

An interminable wait, but it’s coming.

Should be a good show.

The most interesting twist, among many, may involve the Kelce brothers.

[Editor’s Note: See accompanying piece written by Mr. Kaplan in October 2022.]

Sure, there’s Andy Reid.

Patrick Mahomes.

Jalen Hurts.

The respective franchise histories.

The Chiefs won the Super Bowl in 2020, defeating the 49ers, 31–20.

The Eagles defeated the Patriots in the 2017 extravaganza, 41–33.

Current Kansas City head coach Andy Reid was Philly’s pilot then.

But brothers Jason and Travis Kelce, two years apart and fellow University of Cincinnati teammates and alums, are the story.

Both have won a Super Bowl.

They love each other and would die for each other.

As it should be.

And although they won’t be on the field at the same time–both play offense–they’d kill each other in order to win.

Also, as it should be.

The first brothers ever to oppose one another in the big game.

But don’t tell their mother, Donna.

She’ll be cheering, swaddled in a custom-sewn jersey with team colors and numbers saluting her boys.
